The Corner Irish Pub LisbonThe Corner Irish Pub Lisbon stands at Travessa da Queimada 7-9, 1200-285 Lisboa, in the Bairro Alto neighbourhood, within the historic centre of the city. It opened in 2014 inside the walls of an old Fado restaurant tucked away in Bairro Alto. The founders combined the Portuguese architectural history of the building with the warm look of a neighbourhood Irish pub. The result is a welcoming place for the community to gather. The pub operates under the traditional Irish greeting Céad Míle Fáilte, which means A Hundred Thousand Welcomes. The Corner is a traditional, unpretentious Irish pub and sports bar. It serves as a relaxed home base for locals, expats and travellers alike. Rather than a massive club, it has a cozy, intimate tavern feel where conversation flows easily and traditional drinks are poured carefully. Sports are broadcast regularly, and Sky Sports is shown inside. Opening hours run from Monday to Thursday, 17:00 to 02:00, and on Sunday, 17:00 to 02:00. On Friday and Saturday the pub opens at 18:00 and stays open until 03:00. Live music plays every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9.30 pm. The pub describes live music as its passion and offers an eclectic mix of artists through the week. The repertoire stretches from the 60s, 70s and 80s to the newest hits, and the volume gets turned up to suit the mood. Anyone who wants a quiet pint and a chat with the bartender should come early in the week, since Tuesdays are the quietest. For a buzzing, energetic crowd with live music, Friday or Saturday night is the time to go. Arriving a little early helps if you want a good table near the action. Guinness drinkers can ask for a personalised pint, with a photo or a short message. The pub suggests this for a message of love, friendship or good luck, or even a marriage proposal. The Corner also hosts group parties for friends, family or colleagues. Surprise parties, graduations, corporate events, birthdays, bachelor parties and holiday parties are all mentioned, and the pub promises warm Irish hospitality and personalised service. Tables can be booked through a form, and the website offers a reservation option where you pick a date. Because the pub occupies an older historic building, the interior layout and restrooms have physical limitations. The venue is not fully wheelchair accessible. Bairro Alto comes alive late at night, so a stop here combines easily with a wander through the narrow, lively cobblestone streets nearby. The pub's official website lists up-to-date event schedules.Bairro AltoNeighbourhood Bars & Pubs
