It is said that he died in 1591, in Lisbon. He was said to be very witty and had the ability to imitate other people very well. A Brasileira, at Rua Garrett 120, opened in 1905 to market Brazilian Coffee. It was a hub for Portugal’s Modernist writers and poets, including Fernando Pessoa. Recommended by some travel guides, the Chiado is a good spot early in the day, before the crowds gather. Rua Garrett leads to Livraria Bertrand.
