Garden BalthazarOpens in a new tabSaldanha · Cafés & Coffee ShopsGarden Balthazar is a café and restaurant in Lisbon, on Rua Viriato in the Saldanha neighbourhood. The listing gives the address as Rua Viriato 11, 1050-229 Lisboa. The venue's own website gives Rua Viriato 11A, 1050-233 Lisboa. It sits close to the Marquês de Pombal and Picoas areas. Despite the name, it is not a historical public park or a botanical garden. It is a lushly decorated place that combines indoor and outdoor space. The interior resembles a greenhouse, with many hanging plants, natural wood and cosy lighting, so diners can feel as though they are eating inside a secret indoor garden. It is described as a fashionable, contemporary lifestyle café and brunch spot that serves throughout the day. The menu covers breakfast, brunch, lunch and cocktails, along with international comfort food. As a modern commercial business rather than a municipal landmark, it has no centuries-old civic history. It emerged as part of Lisbon's contemporary culinary boom. The opening hours are 09:00 to 22:30, and the website gives the same hours for every day from Monday to Sunday. The phone number for the Picoas location is +351 924 782 032. The website has reservation links for booking a table, and dishes can also be ordered for delivery or take away. Garden Balthazar has other locations. One is Quinta do Lambert, at Rua Manuel Marques 2C, 1750-171 Lisboa. The other is Porto Batalha, at Av. Rodrigues de Freitas 429, 4000-423 Porto. Both also open from 9:00 to 22:30 daily. The Lisbon venue is on Instagram as @gardenbalthazarlisboa and has a TikTok presence too. The website shows guest reviews, and all of them are positive. Kobi Liany had lunch with a vegan burger and a Sagres beer, and called it a nice place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Caroline Guimarães found it pleasant to visit, well decorated and good for its dishes. Natália Cabral went on the day the café celebrated its third anniversary. She was welcomed with a mimosa and was given a brownie when paying the bill. She found the staff attentive, and said the waitress kindly helped the table choose a dish when they could not decide. She also said the food was good.
